I wasn't going to include a Rubik's Cube for a puzzles-in-the-movies blahg (because there are quite a few examples and, hence, its inclusion would skew the effort). However, having made a chess-in-the-movies exception, I shall mention "Safe Men" (1998) which has Jacob Reynolds (as Ira) fondling one. Actually, I did already do an entry that would have qualified.

As I watched "Safe Men", I kept thinking that the actor playing Sam must be Paul Simon's son, or other relation. Searching the Web, I found this corroborative comment from a yarngirl that (watching "Moon") "Sam Rockwell looks like Paul Simon".
