We went to see WALL•E yesterday. By and large, it was a great movie! Pixar continues to raise the bar, I feel, on what state-of-the-art animation is capable of achieving. Although rated G, I’m not sure about taking young children to the theater to watch this one. (Disclaimer: Twenty years ago, we took our then four-and-eight-year-olds to see The Bear.)

There is plenty to love about this movie but, if one is so inclined, one can find irritants as well. At times poignant (A.O. Scott in The New York Times called it "a cinematic poem"), the film was, for me, overwhelmingly intelligent and fun. (Aside: The BnL company featured in the movie at one time had its own website.)
