I wouldn't ordinarily do a chess-in-the-movies for just having a board and pieces in a couple of scenes but I will make an exception for "Following" (1999) because the movie is such a nice, edgy piece of maneuvering. It took a bit to catch on to the film's flashback layering — but it's all good.

Speaking of one-offs, is that a chess set on the table in this scene taken from "Dick" (1999)?
