I referenced Neil Bickford's Random blog here last April but I had no idea at the time of his age. The frequent mentions of his 'mom' on his visit to a Gathering for Gardner get-together now take on a slightly different contextual hue.

I mentioned my 180 million term pi-simple-continued-fraction 'record' here two-and-a-half months ago. Neil calculated 458 million terms ten days ago and showed that one of my terms was in error: a 'q' instead of a '1' — explained as a computer bit-flip. That will teach me, in future, to verify my results.
