The G20 security spokesmen have declared the weekend's summit here in Toronto a success. "No one was hurt" is the theme that I have heard from at least a couple of pundits. It should be obvious to Torontonians by now that they are not referring to the citizens of our besieged and aggrieved town.

I've been following the unapologetic spin by our top cop, Bill Blair, yesterday and today and it has become rather plain to see that no objective truth will come from his camp. A public inquiry would help but I see little hope of that happening any time soon. Media scrutiny will continue of course but I doubt that it is capable of properly contextualizing the propaganda.
