Fifty days after I wrote my analysis of the chess moves and board positions in The Seventh Seal, an auction house sold a chess set belonging to Ingmar Bergman. It was very likely the one used in that movie and, interestingly enough, it was missing a white king. I contributed a factual-point comment to the CBC version of the set's sale but, alas, its added link to my blog analysis has to be copy/pasted first, to go there.
