The first Scientific American monthlies
The picture shows pages 2 and 3 of the January 1920 copy of Scientific American Monthly, the successor to the weekly Scientific American Supplement, which was the companion paper to Scientific American, which continued to be weekly until October 1921. The biggest change was a smaller size, from 38.9 cm x 26.5 cm a page to 29.7 cm x 22.4 cm. Only twenty-two issues (four volumes) of this format appeared. I don't have a cover for the first monthly (because the bound volume in which it sits excluded covers) but I can show you the cover of the July 1920 issue, since I have a loose copy.
