I have been a faithful user of Mathematica for 15 years now, starting with version 2, paying full price for the software and several updates. Mathematica 7 came out two years ago — the first version that I did not purchase — and now we have Mathematica 8, available in a "home edition" — but it would make little sense buying this before I upgrade my computer.
