Wind Chill Chart

Making it colder than it really is

Not content to simply describe thermometric reality, human beings have felt the need to embellish things in order to more accurately reflect our oh-so-precious perceptions. Wintertime, a surefire method of exaggerating the cold is to tout wind chill numbers as though one's bare face was actually exposed to an uninterrupted stream of predicted wind-speed turbulence, walking into it at one-and-a-third meters every second. Don't slow down or turn your head: You will degrade the wind chill factor!
